Best food processor for pureeing baby food?
I need a food processor that can blend food to a very smooth consistency The consistency of a stage 1 baby food . I checked consumer reports and none of the food processors they reviewed scored in " excellent" for pureeing. Also, it's very important that it's a good quality product I don't want a piece of the processor to break off into the food. I've had blenders where a piece of metal had come off into the food even though it was a sturdy new glass blender
Did you ever find anything odd/weird in a jar of baby food?
I opened a jar of chicken and broccoli baby food for my baby and started to notice like little stiff hair like things in it...there were a bunch of them...almost like the part of the feather that goes down the middle...but then I thought..how could there actually be feather parts in here?I wasn't saying that it WAS feathers ... I was just trying to explain the texture. It was too stiff and hairy like to be broccoli stock or chicken strings of meat.
What baby food should I choose?

Would baby food satisfy my 8 month old's hunger?
so i posted earlier about getting a spider bite and decided to call his pediatrician for advise. he told me i had to stop breastfeeding and pump out the milk then discard them . i need to be treated with antibiotics i dont have anything to feed my baby but baby food from beech nut at the moment, would that help? what else should i give him? i haven't really start him on solids yet, he's very picky on what to eat. sometimes he'll just eat some of what i'm giving him and then insist on breastfeeding.
Question about making my own baby food...?
In a few weeks my little guy exclusively breastfed will be 6 months and in anticipation of starting solids I was researching how to make baby food. I found a great website wholesomebabyfood.com that has everything you ever wanted to know and more about the making of baby food. The first few foods they recommend starting with are sweet potatoes, avacados, bananas, pears, and apples wholesomebabyfood.com startingsolidfood schedule.htm . It seems like a really knowledgeable and reputable site, but I've always heard that you should start out with the veggies because if they have the sweet stuff first, they might not like the veggies later. Any stock to this, or does it really matter what they start out with?
What can I do with this left over baby food?
Most of it we're giving away, but I would love a fun recipe with some of this stuff. I already put the veggies in pancakes carrots are the fave and us the fruits in smoothies and for dipping sauces for the little guy. What would you do with baby peas green beans? or apricot, pear, banana mixes, sweet potatoesI'm hoping somebody has a yummy chicken dish or something kind of crazy. Please help.
How old was your colicky baby before you fed him solids like rice cereal and gerbers first baby foods?
My son is now 4 1 2 months old. From week 2 until week 13 he was a very fussy gassy colicky baby. Things have gotten a lot better since then Thank God Anyway if you have had a baby with a finicky digestive system too when did you decide to start solid foods? Ive already given him Rice cereal without much trouble...maybe a tad extra gas from what I can tell but doesnt cause as much trouble as it used to now that he is older that is. So what are some suggestions you've obtained from either your doctor or your own tried and true experiences? Remember I'm talking about a colic baby here altho he has gotten lots better i dont want to push things. Thanks
Tin/Jar Baby foods VS Home made ?
What are the Pro's And cons? & What do you do or prefer to do?Now my son is getting older he is starting to eat alot more solids. Ive tried both jar baby food and even had a go at making my own, and to me, I dont know which i prefer or which i should stick with.Im just really curious as to what other mum's think? To me the pro's and cons are the same. Im only really saving a few dollars a week, and although it does add up over the months, its still not much. Considering it takes me 1 2 hrs a weeks to make baby food and then freeze it and then takes longer at each meal to to defrost then cook it. Although atleast when i make it, i know exactly what goes into it. What do you think?
