Start with a few tablespoons of bananas or peas or carrots or apples. Give it to your baby around lunch time and only try one food item for three or four days to make sure there are no allergies.

I would start with some rice cereal and formula mixed. It is the easiest on their stomach. Then i would start the stage 1 foods. Just make sure you start them one at a time for a few days each that way you can make sure that they arent allergic to any of the foods that you are giving 'em

Well, wholesomebabyfood.com is THE best site ever! there are so many things to explore on there. Says when to introduce certain foods, etc. you should start him/ her on rice or oatmeal cereal first though. Rice was constipating for my baby. oatmeal worked out MUCH better.

They can have any baby food. There's no need to start with rice cereal. They can have fruits or veggies or meats or grains. Few 6 month olds are quite ready for finger foods, but if yours can eat them, you can skip the purrees completely and start with table foods. Start with once or twice a day. Give baby her regular milk feeds and, after 1-2 of those meals, offer some solid and let her take what she wants. She may want a lot, or just a taste, or none at all yet.

My daughter started with the simple stuff smashed peas, sweet potatoes (she loved them), Corn, and bananas, I also on occasion gave her creamy mashed potatoes with a little steak juice. Try to avoid Apple sauce or any harsher fruits then bananas. The baby's stomach will not be able to handle it to well. My daughter did not like oatmeal or the rice cereal but would eat it if I mixed in some banana jar food with it. All above foods were baby jar foods. If you do fresh veggies, peal them and then smash them using a little water.

U need to ask your doc for information specific to your baby, as he/ she knows them better and knows their health status as well as their height, weight, developmental state, etc.... ETA: my dd ate all different kinds of fruits at six mos; anything that was stage one...applesauce, mango, banana, blueberry, kiwi, peaches, pears, etc...she didn't have any prob with them...why wouldn't you give them applesauce??
