If you want what's really better, mash up a real banana. Organic or not, a fresh banana tastes better, is better. Same goes for everything else. As long as you wash all produce, organic or not, really well, then it's perfectly safe.

Organic means they dont use any pesticides or anything like that on the produce, its more naturally grown.

It's your choice. Organic is better for the environment. Whether a non-organically grown banana absorbs enough chemicals to make the slightest difference is certainly debatable. (And babies are on jarred foods for SUCH a short time, that it's even less likely to make a difference. If you plan to continuing to buy all organic once baby is on table foods -- sure, buy the organic if it makes you feel better. But if you'll be buying standard produce, I wouldn't worry about it.)

"Is organic really better??? " There's no real evidence to support the idea that it is. en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Organic_food

Try making homemade baby food. You can make it organic and cheap. Check out wholesomebabyfood.com for specifics. The advantages to homemade baby food is that 1) the baby gets used to the food you normally eat so that the transition to table food is easier, 2) you know what is going into the food, 3) storage is a cinch in the freezer, 4) it is a lot cheaper. Good luck!

Hi there! Your baby boy is a doll! Certified-organic food is food that has been grown without the use of any pesticides or chemicals. There are certain foods that are more negatively affected than others. For fruits, you definitely want to shop organic when buying peaches, apples, strawberries, nectarines, cherries, imported grapes and pears. Other conventionally-grown produce such as bananas have a very low pesticide load. Therefore, you can feel quite comfortable buying non-organic or conventional bananas.
