When to give a newborn food?
how old should a newborn be before you start to give them rice cereal, and then moving up to baby foods..what is a good age to start them on more then just formula?
How much should I up my newborns food?
My baby boy is almost 7 days old. He started out eating barely 1ounce every 3 hours. He was allergic to regular formula so was switched to soy at 24 hours old. Tolerated soy much better but was still spitting up. I decided at 3 days old to attempt breastfeeding one last time. this is my 2nd baby and I had a lot of issues breast feeding my first for the same reasons. I bought a pump and have been pumping regularly. As well as latching him onto my left side every couple hours. He wont take the right at all. I have tried several positions. But I do pump the right side more often to keep up my supply. Anyway, my main question is....It seems as if 2 ounces isn't satisfying him at all. Within an 1 & 1 2 hours hes screaming for more food. I know his little stomach is so tiny so I don't want to overfeed him and give him a belly ache or cause him to spit up. He is doing so well. But I also nee a schedule. The whole feeding on demand is wearing me out Should I up it another ounce already??? How much is too much too early??
