Question: Where do you get sweet peas from to make your own baby food?

Canned have too much sodium (even no salt added or low salt one) for me, much less my son! So where do you get those (nasty tasting lol) peas from if you don't grow them?? And when are they ready/ in season? I'm in the US, the jar said "sweet peas " and I wasn't sure what else they were called. I didn't even think about frozen.

Hi, where are you from? Here in the U.S., we don't actually eat that. Babies get regular English peas. I get organic peas frozen from the grocery store and steam them....then puree.

You should be able to get them unshucked at the grocery store right now. They look like long green stalks, you will just have to shuck them yourself and then boil them. Man I hated when my grandma made me shuck peas, lol.

Can't you just buy frozen? Ah, gotcha. Frozen should work just fine. We like to get the ones in the bag that you can just stick in the microwave. They're called SteamFresh I think. Super easy. :)

Try the frozen section. Most frozen veggies don't have added salt. They DO have salt, but it isn't added. It is the natural sodium found in the veggie.

I use frozen peas or Organic peas from Healthy Happy Baby Food (in the freezer section at Whole Foods. They are actually really good. My baby loves them, and so do I. :)
