Mommies who make your own baby food...?
How do you store the food after you make it? My son is 7 mos old wow, the time has flown and I am making his food. I puree it and then freeze it in ice cube trays. Then I pop the frozen food cubes out and put them in zip lock bags in the freezer. He's still at the beginning stages, so not eating much and the ziplock bags are being opened so much that they are tearing. I hate waste so I don't want to frivolously use these bags...I'd like something that will keep the food from getting freezer burned but also not take up a ton of room. For the time being, I'm preparing about 2 3 wks worth of food for him again, because he's only eating about 2 cubes per day but down the road, it'll probably decrease to about a week's worth as he starts eating more and I make the same amount each time. Any tips on food storage, anything that's worked well for you? Thanks.

Did you make your own baby food?
I'm going to be making my son's babyfood, including cereal. How many moms have been down this road, and what was your experience like, would you recommend it?Thanks

I recently started my son on gerber and i have a puree baby food machine and was wondering if it was ok to make him some home made baby food with fruits or veggies or is it to soon and will upset his stomach?

Do you make your own baby food, or do you buy it?
I was about to spend $62 on 96 2 ounce vials of baby food on diapers.com. Then I thought about how the cost of making your own baby food might be lower, but of course you have to buy a few things to start out with..Do you think making your own baby food is worth it, and cheaper in the long run? Or do you just buy baby food for the convenience? thanks so much.

How many of you make your own baby food or did make your own?
With our first we made some and did not start until like 8 months. Now with our second he eats exclusively homemade food. I used to think it was hard so I did not want to commit to it but it is actually easy. now he does not even like the jared stuff. I don't add anything it is just steamed pureed veggies but i guess my is thicker than the store bought stuff.

Do you make your own baby food?
what do you put in it?

Where do you get sweet peas from to make your own baby food?
Canned have too much sodium even no salt added or low salt one for me, much less my son So where do you get those nasty tasting lol peas from if you don't grow them?? And when are they ready in season?I'm in the US, the jar said " sweet peas" and I wasn't sure what else they were called.I didn't even think about frozen.

Moms or moms of multiples: did you find it was easier to make your own baby food or buy it pre-made?
I've got the best food processor in the world. I was just wondering is it easier to make your own baby food or is it easier to buy it pre made. I am thinking that if we are blessed with more babies, I might make their food instead of buying it. What's your opinion moms? home made or pre made?

Just a few questions about making your own baby food...?
I am now going to start making my own baby food now..Olivia is 8 months. If i steam some veggies and mash them or puree some fruit and put it in a container, how long do you feel its good for? 2 or 3 days? and any other advice you could give....thanks

Difference between Earth's best and making your own baby food?
I read the ingredients of the Earth's best organic baby food and it said it was just organic apples and vitamin C. So what is the difference between this and making your own? It had no preservatives and none of the other things put in regular baby food. I'm torn in my deicision of which to do and I really don't see what is so bad about giving jarred if it's organic???

Question about making your own baby food...?
I have successfully made acorn squash, butternut squash, pears, banana, and home made brown rice cereal. I have bought Earth's Best peas and carrots because of nitrates and the fact that I don't have time to shell peas even if I could find them fresh and organic in the middle of winter in teh midwest. Tonight I made sweet potato and decided to experiment with frozen green beans because I can't find them fresh and organic either and no matter what I do they are still chunky. I cooked them in teh microwave with water just to be fast for the experiment. Then I ran them through my hand crank food mill. Then I mixed them with about a half ounce of breastmilk and ran tehm through again. They were still a little chunky so I ran them through a fine strainer. Well, they are still in little chunks some how and I don't know what else to try. My son choked on some oatmeal and bananas today because I didn't add enough milk to thin it, so I def don't want to give him chunky green beans. ANy suggestions, experience appreciated
