Can I use canned peaches to make baby food?
I am going to start making my own baby food. I have several cans of " natural lite" peaches with no sugar added. The ingredients say peach slices, water, grape juice concentrate, and citric acid. Would it be safe to make my son's baby food from the canned peaches? I know fresh or frozen is better because of added salt sugar, but since these do not have any, would it be okay? Thanks

Moms, need your opinion on what vegetable steamer is best to make baby food?
With all the Christmas coming up I would like to buy a bigger vegetable to make my daughters baby food. I am thinking of trying BLW baby led weaning as the moth of feeding. With your experience would it be better to get the electric veggie rice steamer or the pot you put on top of the stove with water?

I wanted to home make baby food but doc says jar food for at least one month, do u agree?
I went into the walk in hours this morning because I thought my son had a rash but turned out to be the exact same dry skin I have. I talked to a nurse a few days ago just to make sure it was ok to start veggies and about home making it. She recommend I start fruits, we discussed how I would make it but then all of a sudden she was like just wait til June 3rd to speak to your doc about it. Since we did a walk in, I talked to this doc about it and that I wanted to do home made veggies first instead of fruits and he said I should at least do jar foods, trying new things every other day, then do home made in a month. He said the reason was because if my son had a reaction they wouldn't know if it was from the veggie or how I prepared it. You aren't supposed to use anything besides maybe water to prepare it and I know that so do you agree with him? Should I try jar food for 1 month? If you did home made was this recommended to you?
How to make baby food from what you make for dinner?
My daughter will eat a little bit of baby food, but as soon as I bring my dinner to the table, she is reaching for and crying for it. She loves to nibble on pea sized bites of chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, cheese, beef, almost anything on my plate I try buying baby food equivalent to what Im making, but she is showing less and less interest in it How do you make your baby's food from what you make for dinner? I tried putting chicken and carrots in the food processor, but she didnt want that Weird....she likes it from my plate, but not mixed for her. Maybe add a special spice or liquid? What do you do?She is 8 months old, breastfeeds for 3 4 of her meals, eats rice cereal for 2 meals, and baby food for another 2...but thinking of switching to " blended adult food" if I can figure out how..Damian she doesnt like it just in the blender, thats why Im asking...maybe adding a special spice would help? One person suggested nutmeg...just wondering if there are any other ideas.great It would just be easier to blend it, I wouldnt have to cut everything up so small...but since she doesnt seem to want it puree', it may be my only option My daughter does self feed with cheerios, little gerber puffs, and so on with NO problem....but I make the chicken so small pea sized or little shreds that sometimes its hard for her to pick up, but I guess she could just practice.

A good appliance for making baby food?
I am wanting to make my sons baby food at home instead of buying the ones at the store. And i was wondering what appliance would be good for that? I know there like the baby bullet but i was wondering what ones people have used and if they are any good?
What is something similar to the baby bullet for making baby food?
i just saw the baby bullet online to make babyfood. you get the mixer, 2 mini mixer cups, a blender like thing that is bigger, storage cups, freezer tray, cookbook and spatula.the storage cups twist on the top to show the date you made it so you can know when to toss it. It cost $80, but you buy 1 get 1 free.....a little expensive for my taste....do anyone know anything similar I could get to make baby food?...my baby is 6 months old so I would be starting soon with food.
