Can i feed my 3 month old jars of baby food?
by baby just turned 3 month old is a little underweight for her age she was 7 lbs 2 oz when born and just turned 3 months on the 18th. she is now 10 lbs 11 oz... the doctor said shes a little on the Small side,my mother told me the other day i was on the small side myself and she fed me jars of food at 3 months and i gained weight. just only feed her vegetables the first few months and 1 jar a day until shes 4 months than 2 if she will eat it..last night i fed her a half a jar and she didn't chose or spit up anything, today i fed her half and she freaked ot wanting more .... she normally eats about 3 oz of breast milk every 3 hours, doc said she should be drinking at least 4 oz every hour. she refuses bottle after 3 oz but does not refuse the jar if food. is this ok? please no mean comments or telling me i will over feed her because im not feeding her more than a half a jar. and she eats it and hasn't spit up anything.i forgot to mention she has not been constipated at all and in a wonderfull mood for the last 2 days , and also has been holding her head up on her own since she was born. she is a very strong babyi forgot to mention she has not been constipated at all and in a wonderfull mood for the last 2 days , and also has been holding her head up on her own since she was born. she is a very strong babyi forgot to mention she has not been constipated at all and in a wonderfull mood for the last 2 days , and also has been holding her head up on her own since she was born. she is a very strong babyi tryed the baby cereal about a week ago and she just played with it in her mouth , the docter said the next day its ok to feed her a lil bit of cereal with a quarter a oz of breast milk and make the cereal thin. i have an appt in a week for my oldest son who has the same doc as the baby. im planning on talking to him about the food i just thought id ask for advise now

Hello mamas I just wanted to have a basis of comparison for my son's eating habits. He loves to eat, and will eat the equivalent of two jars of baby food between 8 and 12 ounces in one sitting if I let him. Usually I don't. I'm still nursing and I nurse him before he eats and if he wants to continue to eat when he is done with his solids I will nurse him some more. It's just the fact that he " could" eat more if I let him. It makes me wonder what a normal amount of solids is for the average baby. His pediatrician has nothing to say about the his eating, so I'm not worried about it. Just curious.

My pediatrician said to start my baby on jar food when he was 4 months old, so I waited a week then started and boy was he ready to eat He did so well right off the bat, didn't spit out any of it, and by the 2nd day he was finishing a whole stage 1 jar. I decided a week later to start feeding him 2 jars a day, 1 for breakfast, 1 for dinner.. he finishes the entire jar and still seems like he wants more so I just feed him a bottle afterwards. Should I be feeding him more than just 2? My son is 7 months old, I feed him baby food 2 times a day half a jar. So he eats 1 jar of baby food. Is that enough? my baby will be 6 months next week and i want to start giving her tastes of solids. she has had a little bit of rice cereal which she liked. now i want to let her try sweet potatoes or carrots or something like that...heres the thing, we go to a clinic where they offer guidance for things like introducing solids and the nurse advised me to make my own baby food. she said that the bottles of baby food contain preservatives which is something that i do want to avoid. BUT when i went to the store and looked at the labels on the jars of baby food, there were no preservatives listed. i asked the nurse about this and she said, " how can the food last in the bottle unless there are preservatives in there?" so, whats the deal? are jars of baby food good or bad in this regard? also, if jars of baby food are fine and they dont contain preservatives, then why do some people make their own anyway when the jars seem more convenient?

Ok my son will be 5 months this friday, and recently he has been eating a whole jar of sweet potatoes is it normal for him to eat this much? because he wanted to nurse a little bit after words is he getting to much? or is this the way it is?my son is exclusively breastfed he gets one jar a day for lunch then he sometimes gets cereal before bed but other then that he eats breast milk and hs doctor told me I could start him on solids
