My daughter is 8 months old, and although its not recommended has been on solids since about 4.5months. She has been on only organic baby food. but i have found that she is getting bored by them, and I would really love to start making her food myself. If anyone has any tips on websites or their babies favorite recipe I would love to hear from you.

When is it best to start feeding a baby cereal/ jar baby food?
My Baby is a lil more than three months old now and all of my family have told me to start putting about a teaspoon of cereal in his bottles at night. I haven't asked my pediatrician about it yet but I already started giving it to him because I figure it wouldn't hurt. He seems to be doing fine with the cereal at night but I would like to know if this could be bad for his health or development? Also I want to know when I should start feeding him baby food....A lot of people tell me that when he can support himself sitting then that is when I should start giving him baby food. He can hold his head up by himself and he is already trying to hold himself up while in a sitting position. Any advice would be nice Thanks
Is 5 months too early for jar baby food?
last month, my baby was only 4 months old. her pediatrician told me to start feeding her green veggies jar . she had not and still does not eat rice cereal. she takes rice cereal in her bottle, but pushes it out of her mouth with her tongue when i spoon feed her. the other day some lady actually had the nerve to lecture me for not having my baby spoon fed already. she's not ready yet. what do i do, keep at trying to spoon feed her, or just wait another month?
My 8-month old was eating cereal & jar baby food but is now refusing all solids and he isnt sleeping well, why?
He started cereal at 4 months, did very well, then at 6 months I introduced organic baby food, and did ok with that, and now he is refusing any solids. I am nursing and giving formula 50 50 , he does not have any teeth yet either. In addition he is not sleeping well at all. He can sometimes wake up on the hour or several times in a 3 hour period, he nurses for a few minutes and goes back to sleep. I'm very frustrated, tired, and don't know what to try next. Please help
Whats in jar baby food?

I thought preserves are used to keep packaged foods going off but its not in baby food? How does it stay in the jar for like a year and not go off... Its just a question that crossed my mind i'm a mum of 2 a 2year old and 6 month old... My little one is starting solids soon but i'll do what i did with my older one make fresh cooked food for each meal unless we are out then i use jar food if we are out
Tin/Jar Baby foods VS Home made ?
What are the Pro's And cons? & What do you do or prefer to do?Now my son is getting older he is starting to eat alot more solids. Ive tried both jar baby food and even had a go at making my own, and to me, I dont know which i prefer or which i should stick with.Im just really curious as to what other mum's think? To me the pro's and cons are the same. Im only really saving a few dollars a week, and although it does add up over the months, its still not much. Considering it takes me 1 2 hrs a weeks to make baby food and then freeze it and then takes longer at each meal to to defrost then cook it. Although atleast when i make it, i know exactly what goes into it. What do you think?
There's no preservatives in jarred baby food?
I just answered a question about what the healthiest baby food was and was reading some of the other responses.... One person said that there are no preservatives in baby food jars, that the canning process preserves them. Okay, that makes sense... but then what is the point of people making their own food? And why do some feel that jarred foods are just so horrible to feed your baby.... If it's true that there is nothing in the jar other than what is listed ie banana's are ONLY banana's... no sugar, no preservatives, etc. then why would someone even bother making their own food?K, I know this... I make my own baby food... I was just wondering why others would feel that making their own food was worth it if it's true that the jarred foods are 'exactly' the same. I agree 100 % that fresh foods are a million times better and tastier.
Where can i buy jarred baby food?
i always hear other mothers talk about " jarred baby food" on here.but i have never seen it.. the closest thing i think is " earths best organic" i want to make my own baby food, and use organic babyfood from the store.oh also, i live in the US. washington state ... just saying, incase its not sold here for some reason.OHHH I feel dumb now haha i thought " jarred" was the brand. like pronounced 'jared', the name ,. lol. thanks.
My daughter won't eat jarred baby food anymore. What can I do with it?
My daughter will not eat baby food out of the jar anymore. She is just about 1 year old and eats just whatever we eat at this point. Which is fine, however I have about 20 30 jars of baby food left. I mix her fruits into yogurt in the morning and that is OK. She will sometimes eat the jarred breakfast cereals I have. But I am wondering what I can do with the jarred dinners. Any way I can sneak them into her diet? I hate seeing them go to waste. Stirring them into a meatloaf or burger or something? Anyone tried this before. Any good recipes?I'm not going to throw them away My sister in law has a daughter about 7 months old who I plan on giving most of them to. I just had heard of some recipes that you can make with baby food. There is actually a book on how to make healthy food for toddlers with baby food in it. Like the carrots and potatoes and stuff. I'm not that stupid to just throw it away It will get used. I'm just looking for ideas.

Jarred baby food vs formula?
My son is just under 5 month the doc said to start him on rice cereal at 4.5 month he is very tall and skinny for his age. I have been giving r 3 table spoons of rice cereal mixed with a lil formula ALONG with that he get 6 oz 3 times a day breakfast lunch dinner in between breakfast and lunch he gets just 9 oz and in between lunch and dinner her gets another 9 oz so i think once i start him on jarred food at 5 month he will be getting one jar 2.5 3 times a day ALONG with the 6 oz of milk and then 9 oz 2 times in between is that correct?so again to be clear. 6 oz 2 times daily ALONG with 3 table spoons of rice cereal and then 9 oz 2 times daily so a total of 36 oz milk excluding the rice cerealmy son is 26 inch long and weights 15 lbsI am not starting him on jar food just yet the doc said till he 5 month and 1 weeks so in another 2 weeks i should be able to start him. i am just getting an idea.
