What can I make with jarred baby food?
My son is on WIC and the baby food that is approved by WIC isn't a huge variety and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of things I could make with this jar baby food that would give him a little more variety to his daily meals... I do buy other baby foods to give him a variety but WIC provides more food than he can eat in a month so I don't want to see it go to waist I once found a recipe to make pancakes all with baby cereals and jar food so if anyone has recipes like this that would be greatly appreciated

Jarred baby food vs formula?
My son is just under 5 month the doc said to start him on rice cereal at 4.5 month he is very tall and skinny for his age. I have been giving r 3 table spoons of rice cereal mixed with a lil formula ALONG with that he get 6 oz 3 times a day breakfast lunch dinner in between breakfast and lunch he gets just 9 oz and in between lunch and dinner her gets another 9 oz so i think once i start him on jarred food at 5 month he will be getting one jar 2.5 3 times a day ALONG with the 6 oz of milk and then 9 oz 2 times in between is that correct?so again to be clear. 6 oz 2 times daily ALONG with 3 table spoons of rice cereal and then 9 oz 2 times daily so a total of 36 oz milk excluding the rice cerealmy son is 26 inch long and weights 15 lbsI am not starting him on jar food just yet the doc said till he 5 month and 1 weeks so in another 2 weeks i should be able to start him. i am just getting an idea.

Are there really no preservatives in jarred baby food?
I just answered a question about what the healthiest baby food was and was reading some of the other responses.... One person said that there are no preservatives in baby food jars, that the canning process preserves them. Okay, that makes sense... but then what is the point of people making their own food? And why do some feel that jarred foods are just so horrible to feed your baby.... If it's true that there is nothing in the jar other than what is listed ie banana's are ONLY banana's... no sugar, no preservatives, etc. then why would someone even bother making their own food?
What "junk" should I avoid in jarred baby food?
Usually, the ingredients contain fruits or veggies and water. Sometimes citric acid and ascorbic acid...Yesterday, I noticed " rice flour" in one of the Stage 2 jars. Is that junk? What things should I look for to avoid?Note My question does NOT require the following answer " Make your own baby food at home. It's cheaper and healthier" thought I'd point that out before some of you get too carried away
I have a 10 month old daughter and want to stop feeding her jarred baby food?
is this a good time to do so? Right now she eats 2 or 3 jars of pureed baby food a day, plus whatever we are eating. I would like to eliminate the jarred food now.. If this is a good time can you give me some ideas of what to cook for breakfast, lunch, and dinners that she can eat too? Thanks
