Other than formula and baby food, what are some other foods I can feed my 6.5 month old?
I started giving him baby food on a regular basis about a month ago. In addition to that and his formula, what else can I feed him? He cannot sit up on his own as of yet and he isn't crawling yet. He hasn't discovered that he can get on his knees yet, so he digs his head into the ground and pushes up with his head and feet.I have read several questions today about feeding babies eggs, yogurt, etc. What can I feed him as far as table foods are concerned? What did you feed YOUR baby at that age? He does not have teeth yet although I can see the two bottom teeth. They have not come in yet and it seems as if he's been teething since around three months becuase of all the drool. To the person who said they would grind up the veggie they were eating ... did you literally put them in a food processor, or did you just smash them up really good?
8 month old not interested in baby food.?
My 8 month old isn't eating any baby food, or basically anything from a spoon. He sees his older broth 2 eating and wants to eat the same things. I've given him some egg yolk, cheese, bread and rice but he still spills most of it because he doesn't quite have the dexterity. Can anyone please suggest some finger food ideas for my baby. I'm just worried he isn't taking in enough food. Thanks

Why are so many moms surprised when baby doesn't want formula/baby food anymore?
I'm not being mean, by any means. I gave Ethan formula so, I'm not one of those evil breastfeeding Nazi's because I breastfed Sophie. Now that that is out of the way.... Why are moms so surprised when their baby doesn't want to drink their formula or eat baby food anymore? I see 5 posts a day on here asking for help with their baby. Have you ever smelled formula? Have you ever tasted formula? Have you ever tasted baby food? It's HORRIBLY DISGUSTING. Yes, babies have never had anything else so, no, they shouldn't know that it tastes gross. But, after several months of drinking eating it, it's got to just be gross. They sit there watching us eat our food and drink a variety of different looking things. I really think they WANT something different. We don't drink and eat the same thing every single day, why should they? We like different textures, tastes, consistencies....What do you mommas think? I hope this didn't come off as mean. It was just a thought that popped into my head and I wondered if others ever thought this too?EDIT I HATED giving Ethan formula. I regret it even to this day and he's 3 1 2 When I think about how gross it smelled and tasted it makes me sick all over again. Yes, it's necessary for many babies and serves a very usefull purpose. I'm not denying that. They should just make it not smell or taste so gross.
When and why did processed baby food originate?
Why the need to have specialized foods for babies? There was a study released several years ago asserting that Gerber Baby Food had certain toxins, harmful to a baby's health. If I find the link I'll post it.
8month old wont eat baby food?
I have a 8 months old son who hates solids, I have been trying him on baby food since he was 5 months old. I have tried from fruits to veggies. And he wont eat but 1 to 2 spoon fulls and then turns his head and starts crying and screaming. I am so worried about him getting enough to eat. He loves formula with mixed cereal and that will be all he will eat period. I have tried table food such as mashed potatoes and giving him mashed veggies I cook and have him eat at the table with us for dinner but he does the same thing as he does for baby food. Please help any advice? I am at my twits end with this

When and how did you get your babies off formula/breastfed and just on baby food?
I have a 2 1 2 year old but can't remember what I did with him. I think pretty much at 12 months is when I stopped giving him formula and started giving him baby solid foods around 6 months. I give my daughter solid foods about twice a day now she's 8 months old and she starting the puffs which she does pretty good with. I just wasn't sure how and when to start getting her to drink from a cup and get her off formula. I know it's good to keep them on the formula until at least a year. When did you start using a sippy cup and when did you just do solid foods with not formula?
I have some pregnancy questions (hernia, very low sitting baby, foods, anxiety, etc). advice or experiences?
this is my second baby, and during my first i had placenta previa that wound up resolving itself in my 39th week and was induced due to high blood pressure. i had pains afterwards a few months and they checked for hernia's and everything, nothing was wrong and my doctor said it was just gas. this time we're in el paso texas makes me miss east coast healthcare .... and i have had really sharp pains to the left of my belly button. today my dr down here told me it was a hernia that " has been there since my first pregnancy" and to put a cotton ball in my belly button and put a bandaid over it? i dont even understand that.... especially since it's not in my belly button it's about an inch to the left. he also said that i shouldn't have any more kids after this or it's going to make the hernia much worse and hurt a ton. and if i have surgery to get it removed that i'm done having kids as well or it will rip the muscle. not a decision i'm ready to make at 22, and doesn't sound right to me. also, the baby is sitting really low in my stomach, no higher than my hipbone. that seems off to me as well. i'm 19 weeks and he's also telling me i can eat lunch meat, which i thought was a big no b c of the bacteria. back home they said it was not something i should be eating. i am leaning towards believing my old dr. and i keep having panic attacks, which the new dr said is fine for the baby as long as the anxiety doesn't cause me to smoke drink stop eating etc. i'm going back home in early sept and visiting with my old dr there to see what they say, but until then can anyone give me some advice or thoughts? thanks....thanks much for all the answers so far it made me realize i left something out, i can't switch doctors. sadly, this is the best i can find here. sigh oh and tx mom what is hpb?
