Jarred baby food vs home made baby food?
I know the jarred baby food is really convenient but I was thinking that I should make my own baby food. Is it just a matter of putting the food in a blender and mixing it? Does anyone make their own on here? How long does it normally take and how do you freeze it?

Which is better when making home made baby food - fresh or frozen produce?
I've heard that fresh loses some of it's nutrients by the time it makes it to the grocery store, whereas frozen veggies and fruits are frozen at their peak freshness thus sealing in all the good stuff. Any idea on which is better preferred when making baby food at home?
I want to make home made baby food, any suggestions?
My baby is 5 and a half months old and she has started solids well, only cereals recently. We are planning to move on to vegetables in a few weeks when she is 6 months . I want to make them home made, not buy them with preservatives and all that cr p. Are there any websites that are good with instructions and all that jazz for making home made baby food? Can you hand over any advice parents?BQ We are going on vacation with our baby of course and it's a trip that requires a plane ride... so I don't think I will be able to make homemade food for her while there. If I bring jarred food for the trip, will she refuse it because she will already be eating my home made baby food for a month?
What can I use to reheat portion size amount of home made baby food? Frozen cubes don't fit in glass jars.?
Hi there. So I made a bunch of baby food last weekend. I have been having trouble finding something to reheat it in though. I made the baby food and put it in ice cube trays to freeze. Once they are frozen I popped them out and stored them in labeled zip lock baggies. But most of the ice cubes won't fit into the glass baby food jars I saved. I need something similar in size though to fit into my bottle baby food warmer. Any ideas? All input is appreciated.

How do i freeze home made baby food?
I decided that paying for baby food is way too expensive. It's way over priced for what it is. So, I went out and bought a baby food grinder because my blender broke a while back . I want to make baby food ahead of time so I don't have to do it everyday. What i would like to know is 1, Is there anything special i need to put in with the fruits and veggies before i freeze them, and 2, Whats safe to mix it with when freezing? If you could help me out that would be wonderful Thank you So i feel like an idiot, but if i dont ask then i probably wont do it right. lol But if i wanted to do strawberries or something like that, do i need to steam or cook them too?

I need ideas for home made baby food?
I like to make my own food for my 6.5 month old son. So far he eats apples, pears, bananas, peas, sweet potatoes all of them pureed and tomorrow we're going to do the 4 day test on carrots. I don't have any imagination though when it comes to baby food lol so I would like some recipe ideas. I don't have a steamer though I love cooking for the little guy but the only " finger foods" I give him right now are rice biscuits and he still gets cereal 1 2 a day. Thanks everyone
What home made baby food does your child like best?
We are currently making our own baby food and have made mostly single veggie or single fruit so far. We have experimented with a couple combo's, but haven't tried too many yet. I was wondering if there were any foods that your baby really liked either combo's or single veggie fruit. We have tried some commercially prepared food. So we could get an idea of how much to puree ours & to try out some different flavors before preparing our own. We have already discovered that our son actually prefers the texture consistency of our homemade foods over commercially prepared foods. We freeze our food in ice cub trays & then transfer into zip lock bags in the freezer. So far he has liked the commercially prepared foods....although it took a couple tries of peas & squash to really like them. He still is not a fan of sweet potatoes, so we're going to try making our own tonight to see how he likes them. Most of my foods are about the consistency of mashed potatoes or slightly thinner .
