Freezing home made baby food?
I am making my own baby food for my son who is days away from 4 months old I am a planner and would like to get a good start on it, but I don't know how long I can keep things frozen for. Some info i have read says two months, some says six. All info comes from reputable sources. So, I just want to know how long I can freeze the frozen cubes of baby food in ziplock freezer bags for. Thanks
How to store home made baby food?
I'm going out tomorrow to get " supplies" to make Noah's food, but have a few questions. For those that have done this, do you find ice cube trays work best? Or is there another sort of storage container that would be better? Also, Noah's been on jar food stage 1 for about 3 weeks, can I make the consistency of the food a bit thicker now? I was also wondering when your baby started self feeding. I'm nervous about this as we just started out but have also heard it's of great benefit to baby. If you started around 6 and a half months how did you do it and what type of foods did you start with?Thought I'd add that he's having about half a jar when he does have them and it's only at dinner time.Yes, Ellie, that's what got me interested in doing this and I got a few recipes off of it as well, it's a pretty neat site
Question about home made baby food?
How long is it supposed to stay in the freezer? And what vegetables can I use? I've used carrots, sweet potato and squash
Jarred baby food vs home made baby food?
I know the jarred baby food is really convenient but I was thinking that I should make my own baby food. Is it just a matter of putting the food in a blender and mixing it? Does anyone make their own on here? How long does it normally take and how do you freeze it?

Do you think home made baby food is more expensive?
And even if it isn't, I don't think it's that much cheaper. I know once my baby is a little older and eats the same as us it will be much cheaper but making her own meals in a batch and freezing them seems to cost us quite a bit. What do you think?I know she can have the same as us now but we eat a little later than the baby
Can i freeze home made baby food in a glass jar? or just fridge it?
I make home made baby food so i bought some baby food jars so i know how many oz he getsnormally i would just make the food that day itself but i think i might try this freezeing thing. so can i just make a batch like a weeks worth and freeze it in the glass jars? or if i make a weeks worth can i just keep it n the fridge as long as he eats it withing a week?
Home made baby food versus baby food Jars?
hi,i would like some honest answers on baby food.i am not trying to start a debate, but i have noticed that almost any question that is asked on baby food jars gets countered with people answering to only give home cooked meals and that baby jars are bad for babies, and the like.now fair enough, my 14 month old usualy gets whatever the rest of the family is eating, but if we are eating something like tacos or pizza i don't have any qualms about opening a jar of Cow and Gate because quite frankly, my baby son can't handle those kinds of food yet.so my question really is this do you ever give your baby jars and does it make you feel bad, or do you see them as a convenient alternative for when the rest of the family are eating something that simply isn't quite suitable for a baby?i know the he can't handle Pizza because even though he gets a slice all he does is play with it and spits it out, same with tacos and ham and cheese toasties and i can still hear his tummy rumble when we are finished with the meal and i end up giving him a jar afterwards.a rumbling tummy is a pretty good sign that he can't handle it yet. he likes chewing it but doesn't swallow much of it.that is how i know.ADD just so you know, it's not me who's giving the TD. please take no notice of themhe knows how to self feed. he uses a bowl with a suction cup at the bottom and his own spoon. i don't sit there and spoon feed him, he is quite capable of feeding himself. there are simply certain kinds of food that he simply won't eat. like my 10 year old daughter who will eat nothing with egg in it or my 8 year old son who hates spaghetti carbonara. whenever we are having egg or carbonara i simply make something else for that person.Max 14month loves blueberry pie and eats every scrap of it but he will not touch the custard or ice cream that's also on the plate.most of the time if we are having pizza i cook a potato and carrots or some pasta for him, but sometimes i feel lazy, try him with the pizza again and i end up giving him the jar afterwards.everybody has some food they don't like.oh, maybe i should add that he is allergic to milk and the cheese on his pizza or anything else is the vegan type you can buy in health food shops. not very tasty.same for yodurts, though these are the soy ones which he loves.
Home made baby food? Anybody prefer doing this?
I was just wondering about people who make their own baby food. I have thought about it but not quite sure how and what ideas would be best. I have a 6 month old. What are some of your babys favorite home made foods? Do you use fresh veggys or canned? Would just like some ideas thanks
Good containers for home-made baby food?
I've just recently started making my own home made baby food. I'm 100 % against anything in a jar, or formula cause of the things that are going on with stuff killing babys and stuff like that. So I decided to make my own baby food. My main question is does any one have any recommendations on some good containers to store my baby food in the freezer? I found a few containers online but I thought maybe there was a decent ziplock container. Something small and convient so when it's time to eat all I need to do is take it out and thaw it or warm it up. So I guess it needs to be BPA free.
