Reheating frozen baby food?
Hi thereI'm trying to make most of my baby's food myself and freezing batches as I make it. With things like chicken veg and fish veg etc, once it's defrosted thoroughly does it have to be heated through again? Or so long as it's thoroughly cooked in the first place and frozen as soon as its cooled will it be ok to serve at room temp? My son doesn't mind it warm or cold but obviously when out and about it's convenient not to have to warm it. But not at the risk of giving him food poisoning Thanks very much.
How do YOU store your frozen baby food?
My mom told me she used to put it in ice trays, freeze it, and then dump it all in a Ziplock bag. I thought this was a good idea since you can easily take out the amount portion you need but I was just wondering if there are any better ideas out there. I work full time and have 2 young ones so I know that as much as I want to, I'm not going to be preparing fresh meals for him every single day. However, I do want to avoid jarred baby food. I'm mostly referring to vegetable purees.
Baby wont eat frozen baby foods?
I asked a question last night about my daughter not eating her veggies. She would gag then spit them or throw them up. I thought it was something against veggies but today I bought some jarred foods and she took the veggies just fine. I normally make her veggies and freeze them and she ate them fine for about 2 weeks. Then wouldnt touch any of them. I keep them in ziploc bags but after about 2 weeks in the freezer she wont touch them. Anyone else have this problem. Its no big deal to make them fresh or only make 2 weeks worth at a time but I was just wondering why this might be? They tested fine to me....I taste everything before I give it to her.
How long does frozen baby food last?
I'm going to start making homemade baby food here soon, and I was wondering how long it lasts in the freezer? Making and freezing baby food?
I will soon be starting my daughter on solids. This time around I plan on making my own baby food. I'm going to start with sweet potato and see how I go. I am planning on cooking it, putting it into ice cube trays and freezing, and using as needed. I'm going to mix it with breastmilk, my question is, should I mix it with breastmilk before or after freezing? Also, how long can it be safely kept in the freezer? Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.Great idea about the ziploc bags, Cagney, I was wondering about the safety of just leaving the food exposed. I like the idea of being able to drop them straight into hot water too. I'm not microwaving I don't even own one, they're horrible as blonde mama said, they destroy the healthy enzymes , so this would be perfect for me. BTW, I just noticed that I forgot the 'e' in poatoe I know how to spell, really, but apparently it can't be edited

I accidentally left a couple of glass baby food jars in my car over night in sub freezing temperatures. I know that glass can break when frozen so I'm debating just playing it safe and throwing the jars away, but on the other hand don't want to waste it.Any thoughts?
