So are these first food for babies good or not?
Banana, avocado and rice cereal made at home with brown rice . Some websites recommend banana & avocado as baby first food, but some, specially in my home country Brazil, banana and avocado are a no no for babies under 8 months. My pediatric said I can give pretty much veg & fruits I want, but I like to research further. Any suggestions?Thank you

Confusion over starting solid foods for baby.?
Ok so i know the basics..when i start feeding my baby rice cereal it has to be watered down with her formula..i know how much and everything but what i can't seem to figure out is like, once i start giving her a little cereal once a day how much formula am i still giving her. Because obviously her intake of cereal with increase through time..more at a time and more in a day. So when and how much do i start decreasing her bottles. Like right now i'm feeding her 7 8 ounces of formula every 4 hours..unless she's sleeping for the night. Then she'll have 8 ounces and sleep 7 hours then another bottle and sleep another 4 or 5 hours.
Opinions on solid foods for baby?
I really have 2 things 1. Did you mix anything in your child's rice cereal? My MIL or mother suggested adding fruit, so I've tried it three times, My daughter, who liked her cereal anyway, maybe liked it a bit more. Then today I got a pamphlet from the doctor's that said not to do that. The first two times, I added just a little. Today, I put kind of a lot to finish off a jar. BTW, she was already established on the cereal and fruit separately before I mixed them.2. My daughter nurses at 7am, 11 am, 2 or 3 pm, and 7pm. I give her 2 tablespoons cereal with 2 tablespoons of breast milk at about 930 am and half a jar of veggies or fruit at 5pm. Does this sound like an okay schedule? It seems to me like the solids are far enough a away from nursing not to interfere, but that pamphlet said to nurse, then do solids, so I'm second guessing myself. She's 6.5 months. She's been on solid food for two months. We cut only one nursing session during that time. It was the one at 5pm, which we only did to tide her over til bed time, not really because she gave hunger cues.
Am I eating enough food for baby?
I am 15 weeks pregnant and constantly worry if I am eating enough. For example, today I had a chicken biscuit for breakfast, a grilled chicken sandwich and fruit for lunch, and for dinner, a small piece of salmon, a sandwich, a few bites of spinach at that's eat. I feel like I was able to eat more pre pregnancy. Is this okay or normal?Oh and I'm 5'0, 109 lbs.

What are some good finger foods for baby?
My 9 month old LOVES to feed himself and it really frees me up to do other things so I'm looking for some new finger food ideas for him. Right now, he's rocking the cheerios, cut up cheese and those gerber puff things. I've tried spiral pasta cooked very well but that seems to make him choke don't know if it's the shape, texture or what but it just doesn't work. What else can I give him that he can mash up with his gums no teeth yet . He has the pincer grasp down well and he doesn't let his toothlessness get in his way. Any ideas?
What are some good 1st finger foods for babies that are easy to eat?
My daughter is 10 months old and is starting to spit out her pureed baby food all the time. She seems to be much more interested in feeding herself. She likes the Gerber Graduates puffs and yogurt melts, although she sometimes spits those out too, but they aren't enough for a well rounded meal. My main concern is that she only has 2 small stubs for teeth and she easily chokes and gags on her food even the puffs that melt in your mouth . She has even gagged so much that she threw up in the car although the food was on the side of her tongue not in the back of her throat so she wasn't truely choking. I feel so nervous and don't know what kinds of foods to offer her that will be easy for her to eat at this point. Thanks for any suggestions.
