Put the jars in a cooler. 9 hours in a hot trunk, on hot roads, in 100+ degree weather can definitely cause things like baby food in jars to expand and pop the lid. Better safe than sorry. Styrofoam coolers and bags of ice are very cheap and available everywhere. Enjoy your trip.

No they will be fine if they are unopened.

The unopened jars will be fine....but why not keep them inside with you and the AC if you are concerned?

The high heat can cause the jars to pop open and yes high heat is not good for them they do say to store at a certain level cause any higher heat can cause bacteria to grow. I would take a cooler bag and throw an ice pak in that way it will get them cold adn by the time the ice melts and they cool your there. GL

Keep them in the car with you. Better to be safe than sorry.
