How can baby food last over 2 years and not contain preservatives?
I always cook my daughters baby food, recently I had a debate with my sister in law about the quality of canned food. I don't understand how certain jars say no preservatives yet they can last up to 3 yrs on the shelf. An apple goes brown after 1 hour of being peeled.. I'm not opposed to canned food I just don't understand how it works
How long can baby food in the jars be kept in the fridge?
How long can you keep left over baby food in the jar in the fridge? One, two days??Oddly enough it doesn't say on the jars, it's the Heinz brand. I made sure to spoon some out as it does state on the jar that a babies saliva can contaminate it with bacteria. Thanks
How long can baby food sit out?
I know baby food needs to be refridgerated and that you can't feed out of the jar if you want to save it because of the bacteria that gets on the spoon. How long can it sit before i need to throw it out? Sometimes my son doesn't finish his food but then wants more like an hour later. I know formula is an hour.
Can baby food go bad in heat?
I am leaving on a trip tomorrow. It will be a 9 hour drive. will jars of unopen baby food stage 3 go bad in the trunk? South texas been over 100 degrees almost everyday?thanks
When you buy canned baby food do you notice that they cut the lids!
I can't breast feed unfort ... I am really frustrated because I have complained over and over again When they get the baby powdered canned food out of the boxes they keep cutting the lids. When you take it home and open it you are stuck with this can that is not sealed I have to buy zip locks and put the can in there and seal it. This stuff is not cheap then I have to buy ziplocks on top of it They all have cuts in the lids at all the stores I go too I use this brand because it's organic with no added sugar...I can't switch brands. Anyway, All of the plastic lids usually get cut no matter what brand.
Can baby food cause loose stools?
I started watching a 15 month old a week or so ago. All his mom sends with him to eat is Stage 2 baby food, which I thought was kind of odd for him to still be on just baby food...but my question is, he always has very loose stools almost like diarrhea. Could the fact that he is on just baby food be the cause of this? She also gives him a lot of juice, she sends about 2 or 3 cups with which is a little much in my opinion, but I do what she says since it's her kid. Should I say something about all of the juice or leave it be?On the sheet that I had her fill out for him to be babysat with me, she put " None" in the allergies medical other problems. So if he had any sort of problem, I would hope she would have listed it or at least mentioned it to me.Thanks Tabitha I actually mentioned something to her the other day about giving him some cut up banana like my kids were eating and she said no, she's afraid of him choking. The only " solids" I am allowed to give him are cheerios.

Would it be ok to feed my baby canned baby food?
like peas and carrots as an example. she is 3 months old almost 3 1 2. Or would it be ok to start her on rice cereal? My sister said that she started her baby on both rice cereal and baby food at 3 months. So I was just wondering.
