Sure, go ahead. It's not like there is something magical about Gerber that makes it a superior product to its competitors. The only major "advantage " it has over Beech Nut or any other brand of baby food (or any products they make) is that it has the Gerber name. Another option you have is to not even worry about baby foods. You can just feed your baby the foods that you are eating. That way you don't have to worry about quality control with them because you're the one controlling the quality.

Why not make your own or try BLW instead?

I am sure you are capable of making this decision. It can't hurt to try it.

Go ahead, mix it up just slowly though.. or better yet, make your own baby food..

Go ahead! You could even use both at the same time. You could also try Heinz, which also has organic baby food as well. Better yet, make your own. You can take whatever you eat, make it into a mush/ puree, and feed that to your baby as well. Switching, or using multiple brands, or even using the prepared food and home made food at the same time isn't going to hurt your baby at all.

Nothing is wrong with trying different brands. My daughter usually takes Nature's Goodness brand, which is sold at Walmart and some grocery stores. Excellent selection I might add.
