When can you give a baby solid food?!?
My son is 2 1 2 months old. He was 6lbs 4oz when he was born and he now weighs 15lbs He eats 8oz every 2 2 1 2 hours of formula. I also give him a cereal bottle at night to hold him over for a few hours. The doc said not to do that until 4 months but my mom did it with me and so did a lot of other people. Having difficulty feeding baby solid food?
I've been having a very hard time feeding my baby solid. I've started feeding him close to 2 weeks now. He's almost 7 months old. I started with baby cereal, then fruits and veggie peas . He never ever voluntarily open his mouth, so I have to " play sneaky" with him. He pushed away the spoon that baby food flew everywhere, now I feed him with bare finger thoroughly washed . He never throw up by himself so I know he does not have any problem digesting, but there's always so much " drama" , crying etc that he eventually throws the food up. Recently I bought a squirt spoon like a small bottle with an opening shaped like a spoon so I can put the spoon inside his mouth and slowly dispense the content. This still doesn't work. I'm about to give up, why it's so hard just to feed him solid. Will really appreciate if other moms can share their experiences and suggestions.
When can I start feeding my baby solid foods?
She's four months old. My Mom said I should start offering her stuff now but I thought I should wait until she's old enough to sit up on her own? Thanks.
When did you start feeding your baby solid food?
The recommendation these days seems to wait until 6 months but my baby stares at me when I'm eating and I let her taste some applesauce and she loved it She seems to be interested in starting solids but I'm not sure if I should hold off. What has been your experience? My baby is 5 months old and average weight. I only tried applesauce once because that's what I happened to be eating at the time I will try cereals and veggies but just wanted to know if maybe she was too young.
Is there anything i should know when feeding my baby solids foods?
