My sister was supposed to have her baby shower today and ended giving birth, what should we do about the party?
Obviously we had to cancel the party today since she had her baby at 2 04 and the party was at 2 00, but what would you do in a circumstance like this? Reschedule in a few weeks or cancel all together and just have people bring gifts to her as they please? The only reason I don't want to reschedule is because I already made all the food and got everything ready for today, having to start all over again will not only be expensive but a ton of work. What would you do?
What kinds of things could I ask for, for my baby shower?
Since this is my first child I am wondering what is appropriate to ask for, for a baby shower. Don't you give a list or something? Do you just get clothes or other things too?

How do I decline a baby shower offer from my soon to be mother-in-law?
I'd love to have one, I just have no one to invite Sounds pathetic, but i'm only 18 and the few close friends I have are all off to college in a week. Inviting family is out of the question, because they are all out of state. Any suggestions on what i should do or how to decline her offer without sounding rude or having to admit that at the moment i'm pretty much friendless?
Advice needed re: baby shower?
I am pregnant and due in about 11 weeks. I have bought most of what I need for the baby so far and barring my partners parents who said that they wanted to buy us a travel system, I haven't asked anyone for anything. About a month ago, two of my oldest friends invited me around for a surprise baby shower type thong where they had both bought some clothes for the baby. I felt so incredibly awkward and uncomfortable I had no idea what to say. I stammered thanks about a hundred times and didn't really know what to say. I have just found out that one of my friends from a completely different social circle to the one above is thinking about arranging a baby shower party type thing in a couple of weeks. I feel so uncomfortable about this idea, in fact I hate it. Is it something that is expected for new mothers? I don't like the idea of people buying me things. I don't want to sound ungrateful but I don't know what to do and can't help how I feel. I probably do sound ungrateful but really don't mean it like that, I feel bad that I'm putting people out. I wad reading about some baby showers and people organise them and register for gifts even getting offended if people don't turn up with cots and car seats. Is this normal? What should I do?I'd never heard of baby showers before a couple of months ago. I live in London.
What should I do for prizes for my baby shower?
I am throwing my own baby shower because I have mainly guy friends and some of them wanted to come to one but I didnt want it to be all girly... I am having a bbq type shower where its not a required thing to bring gifts, its just a celebration more than a baby shower, but I still plan to have games and stuff for the guys... What would be good prizes to give to the winners, I was thinking about getting a bunch of hot wheels cars and having them be the prizes but I am not sure.... There are a few girls coming as well so I didnt know what to do for them...PLEASE HELP
I got a baby shower invitation?
that had some kind of cutsy poem in it saying about how you could bring a pack of diapers and the next couple of lines suggested bringing a book instead of a card.Do you think that is tacky or not? A gift, diapers, and a book......that has to equal $40.00 and that would be bargain shopping. It was from an old high school friend I hadn't seen in a year or so.I assumed a gift plus diapers plus book........and is putting that in the invite tacky? I didn't even go............I usually spend $15 $20 on a gift for someone I'm not really close with.
Having baby shower on Labor Day weekend-bad idea?
There will be 3 hostesses 2 of my sisters and my best friend. However, one of my sisters lives 6 hours away and always comes to town for Labor Day weekend. They mentioned having it then, since she'll be here but I'm worried that no one will show up. What do I do? I don't know that she'll be able to make it another time. The other 2 hostesses are thinking we should do it a different weekend as well. Do I tell the sister that lives far away that we can't do it on Labor Day or should I just do it and not worry about it? Do you think anyone would show up?I live in TN and most people around here celebrate Labor Day by going to the river lake and drinking...haha.
No kids at baby shower?
My best friend is throwing my baby shower and she lives with her parents she's 20 but they live in a super nice big house on the beach. The only thing is this is my 2nd baby shower and most of my friends have kids around the age of 2. I would feel terrible having all these kids running around getting into thing at her house they don't have any kids . So when I invite the people to come should I put not to bring the kids with? I'm not sure what to do.My first child was a girl in 08' , and now we are having a boy. Otherwise we wouldn't have another shower I didn't ask for a nother shower. My bff is offering.
Baby shower games/prizes ideas?
This is my 1st baby shower. its gona be in november. I live in Arizona and most of my family lives in other states so I wont have many people at my baby shower. 15 at the most. I wont have a job and I knw my parents dont have lots of money so my boyfriend is probably the one who might have to pay for a lot of the stuff. Baby shower invite question?
I need help with wording on a baby shower invite How would you tactfully request cash gifts for the couple on baby shower invitations? It's a second baby and they are trying to save up for a double stroller. We are having a small casual couples shower for them. For the record, I think this is totally tacky myself. It is what the mom to requested and I'm not sure what to do. Perhaps I should just not put anything on the invitation and if people ask me I could just let them know that way.
