My aunt has just taken her five month old to Turkey. She took a bottle of milk in her hand luggage but none in her suitcase because those tubs are quite heavy and you only get so much weight allowance. What she did was to go to the Boots in the departure lounge at the airport and buy her milk there, she got the large cartons of ready-made milk so that she didn't need to bother with boiling water and stuff. Because she had already checked in it didn't count towards her baggage allowance and she just carried the sealed cartons onto the plane in the Boots carrier bag. Most airports have a major chemist like Boots or Superdrug in their departure lounge, check your airport website to see if they do, if they do then just buy your milk from there once you've checked in and take it on board as hand luggage. If you're going to a large resort such as Marmaris or Bodrum then they will have a supermarket not too far from the resort centre and this will sell baby milk, as should the local pharmacy. One of the supermarket chains, a chain called Kipa, is owned by Tesco and is very good. But they might not have the brand that your baby used. I've seen Aptimal out there and a few others but don't recall seeing Cow and Gate (which is what I use). I would highly recommend getting it at the airport. |
