When did you start feeding your baby meat?
Per doctor's approval, we started feeding my son solidas at 4 months. He had one of those insatiable appetites on a milk only diet. We just tarted with rice cereal and then started with green veggies and now he does the full array of veggies and fruits and mixed veggies and fruits. I pureed some rice and beans last week and he ate that as well. He has never had any issues with any foods and has a very healthy and curious appetite. My thought and doctor was okay with this was to wait until 8 months and then start with boiled, unseasoned chicken and just puree it, amybe with some potato. What do you think?
New mothers - Are you going to feed your baby meat?
I was asked this question by a friend a few months ago and it began haunting me right away. After months of research and discussions with doctors, I've concluded that I won't be feeding my baby any meat.It turns out that, not only do children not need meat, they're actually considerably better off without it.So now the only reason I can find for feeding her meat is taste, and I'm not about to give the message that it's okay to hurt kill animals because they taste good.I've already begun collecting recipes for good tasting meatless foods because I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to give up meat now that I know what I know But I'll be healthier so that's a big plus.

Question about feeding my baby meats.?
I have a soon to be 8 month old daughter, and I am currently starting her on meats. I was wondering, if she can meats a lot. I am giving her a new meat lasting for 3 days to make sure she doesn't have an allergic reaction. My question is When she is finished having all the new meats and all, is it ok to keep giving her different food with meats in it, or should I space out the days and not give her a variation of meat everyday? I just don't know if it is ok for babies to have too much meat...Thanks Sorry if it was confusing Hotheat7...No, I was not talking about the hard tough meat...I ment to be talking about the pureed baby meats. And yes, she usually does have it for dinner, I just didn't know if too much meat could be damaging to her or something. Also, I usually mix her meats with something else as well, wether it's a little bit of fruit, or a veggie...both of which she's already had.

Do you feed your babies meat?
My son is 5 months old, and i'm so overprotective of what he eats.He has never eaten jarred baby food. I use my own homemade baby food recipes. These are a few things I feed him often all made from scratch Banana Puree, Apple Sauce, Strawberry Yogurt, Carrot Puree, Sweet Potato Puree, Oatmeal, Organic Brown Rice Cereal, Pea puree, Hard boiled egg whites, Etc.He is at a healthy weight, and the pediatrician says he is fine but I want to get an idea of when other parents start feeding their children meat, and other " heavier" foods. I just want to start adding foods to his diet slowly because I want him to be able to digest it well. I also would like some opinions If you're going to be rude, don't bother to answer on my parenting skills. Do you think i'm too overprotective?I mean, I just want my son to be healthy. I don't like the idea of feeding him jarred, processed, foods with chemicals preservatives, etc and I struggle to make him food many times per day. His pediatrician says that I should start adding on " heavier" foods anywhere between 6 months 10 months depending on how much he weighs and his response to certain foods. But he says not to mix too many foods or use any oils or too much fat untill he is at least 10 months.
