I have been doing baby-led weaning with my baby (Since 5 months 3 weeks because he showed an interest in food) and just skipped baby food and cereal altogether. If you google Baby-Led Weaning it will be really helpful, it takes a lot of the guesswork out of how to prepare, what to feed, when to feed etc. My baby pretty much eats whatever we do! Just give him large chunks of semi-soft foods that he can gnaw on. My son has only 2 teeth, is 12 months old and does a fine job mashing up foods. I usually steam or roast/ grill veggies for him. He loves green beans, baby carrots, broccoli, asparagus, baby corn, sweet potatoes, green and red bell peppers, mushrooms. He seems to like potatoes better cut into chunks and steamed or roasted/ baked rather then mashed. He loves chicken, I just give him chunks of boneless skinless breasts either grilled or baked. Hamburger or meatloaf is his favorite. I hard boil eggs and give him the yolks (no egg whites yet because his doctor is a bit nervous about the protein in them although if your baby is breastfed it is very unlikely that she will have any food allergy's because he already eats everything that you do!). He loves avocado. I give him rice and pasta. Soups, and most fruits. He loves melons and pears the best! No grapes yet. For a treat a Nilla Wafer. I stick with just breastmilk or water for a drink as juice has absolutely no nutritional value. If and when I do ever give him any I would dilute it BIGTIME, like 1oz juice to 6 or 7oz water. Truly just about ALL foods are appropriate by 6 months of age. Look into the baby-led weaning, you will be so glad that you did! Truly it is much safer and healthier for your baby as they control what and how much they are eating (no obesity later on in life), the pace and also they develop thier chewing and hand/ eye skills much better. I'd love your recipe for porridge for myself..... Sounds good! However it does not seem to me that your baby is getting much of a variety. I let my son control what he eats and how much he nurses. Believe it or not baby knows better then we do! Very best wishes!

He can eat everything you eat plus milk, it doesnt sound like he is getting enough fruits or vegetables either

He needs to be eating more food in my opinion like breakfast ( not just milk), snack, Lunch, snack and dinner you can have milk too but more food. give the graduate foods or table food just cut it little.

Make sure to include all food groups so your son can get a feel for all of them...but really his main source of nutrients are coming from the whole milk so not so worrisome right now but make sure you let him try lots of different things not just the same thing everyday....Good luck! Lots of parenting magazines have great recipes(quick and cheap even) So you should look in them..Good luck!!
