What should I do in this situation? (baby furniture related)?
My mother in law wants to buy the crib for our baby. I found a 3 piece nursery set for a little over $200 that has a crib, changer, and dresser all together. I thought it would be a good deal and my sister got a similar set from the same company and it is very well made and looks really pretty. My mother in law doesn't want to get the set because she thinks I only want it cause of financial reasons since it comes with everything we need for the nursery. She also thinks it isn't going to last and doesn't think it's very " pretty" , but it's a classic looking crib and is pretty to me. Who can say any crib is going to last, even if you pay more for it?I could be selfish and pick out the most expensive crib I see, but I'm not that kind of person and I don't want her to feel obligated to pay a lot for something. If it was my husband and I buying it without help, we would be getting the 3 piece set cause we are on a budget.Anyway, I tried finding something " better looking" , which is what I think she wants. She said she would work out getting us the dresser changer too. I found a crib with a dresser changer built in for $380.00 and then a crib and a matching changer that actually comes out cheaper.I'm just confused cause everything I suggest I want isn't good enough. She also doesn't like that I want it to be white, but I think white is beautiful and will look so pretty with the bedding set I bought. She wants it to be dark wood, but I don't like dark wood.

Do you think lavender and sage green nursery decor will look nice with espresso baby furniture?
I really wanted like a mint green or aqua green and dark brown theme, but am unable to find ANYTHING that I like here or that will ship to Canada, so have instead opted for a lavendar and sage green kind of an apple green but not so bright theme? The colours would kind of match the 2 colours on the lamp as seen at the below address, but also with some darker shades of the same colours amazon.com Sumersault Lauren Lamp Shade Lilac dp B001HU2F0UWould it be okay for a baby girl?
What do you consider "nessecary" baby furniture?
My husband and I are expecting our first baby on April 17, 2009 We are very excited, and like most families that are first starting out we don't have a lot of money. Sooo, I just want to know what furniture you consider absolutely nessecary? I know a crib, stroller, etc. But what about a bassinet? Dresser? Changing table? Any advice on what you used didn't use would be great. Also I was wondering what you moms think about accepting used items for your baby? For example a friend of the family wants to give us their stroller, which is a couple of years old. Do you think this is safe? What is your opinion expirience with this? Thanks

White or wooden baby furniture?
Hi everyone. I have a very random question to ask from your experience which is better white or wooden nursery furniture? We are choosing our cot tomorrow for our first child and cannot decide white or wooden. I prefer the look of white furniture, but I am wondering if wooden is better from a practical view point keeping it clean etc . Any advice? Thanks so much.
Questions about Baby Furniture - where/when did you buy?
I'm pregnant with my first baby, and wondering when is the best time to buy your crib and other baby furniture?. Did you use a bassinet and then used your crib, or is it okay to just skp the bassinet and start the newborn in a crib or just let it sleep in a moses basket?? Did you buy furniture at Walmart, or someplace liek Babys R Us, or upscale places like Pottery Barn Kids??I'd appreciaite any advice and stories about your personal experience with baby furniture.Thanks,1st Baby on Board
