I have read and heard (and experienced) that it can take over a dozen offers of new foods for a child to decide that they like it. Keep offering her new foods and make sure that you do so at the beginning of the meal when she is the hungriest. I personally require my kiddos to take at least 2 bites of a new food before they get their drink. after they taste it, if they don't like it they don't have to eat it...but they also know that they don't get anything other than what is on the plate. They can refuse the new food, but there isn't substituting it for a favorite food. Offer praise for trying something new, but don't make a huge deal about it because food isn't a big deal. For our kiddos to be healthy in their mentality towards food, we need to approach the food as something that is a tool for our bodies to become healthy. The food isn't the end result, it's the means to the end. Keep offering those new foods (including her in the decision making, and even the 'cooking' like stirring or pouring) and set a good example of having a varied diet. Good luck! = )

A child will not starve themselves. If you give it to them and they don't eat it don't offer them anything else. Wait a little while and offer it again. She will eventually eat it. If you don't break her of it now she will always be a picky eater. Most pediatricians will tell you the same thing. I know mine did with my daughter. He also said if you give them the right food groups they will get all the nutrition they need.

Dont forget that you are the Momma : ) When you give her foods make sure you have a smile and a positive attitude. If you cut back on offering the muffins, cookies crackers she will be hungry enough to eat the other foods. Just be consistent on offering healthy foods and a variety of them. And you should be eating with her, make it fun, dont act like "you have to eat it " say "yummy look what I have...and talk about its color and how good it is ". Have fun with it....Good Luck!!!

Keep offering her new foods. don't give up. I kept offering my daughter oysters and eventually she ate one. If she turns it down, that's okay. Just offer the same food to her at another time.

She's not a baby!! feed her the exact same foods as the rest of the family, but in smaller portions. she can eat 1 bite of each food offered before leaving the table. provide plenty of healthy snacks in between meals & a cup of water.
