At 13 months, she should be able to eat whatever you're eating. My younger two children actually ate very little baby foods, going right to table food. My youngest didn't have a single tooth at 12 months, but he was still eating everything we were eating (with the exception of some raw veggies like lettuce, carrots, and celery). There's nothing "wrong " with still serving some baby food, but there's no need for it, and it's better (and easier) for her to be eating whatever the rest of the family eats. There are so many fruits and veggies your daughter should be able to eat now... pear slices strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries cantaloupe and watermelon bananas kiwi apple slices -- You'll probably have to peel them, and these may still take a bit more practice if she's not used to them. canned fruit (in juice, not syrup) peas green beans diced, cooked carrots raw, peeled cucumber sweet potatoes cooked broccoli/ cauliflower cooked spinach You could offer other raw veggies like carrots, celery, lettuce, bell peppers, etc. and just see how she does. Canned veggies (the no salt added kind) are great, too, because they tend to be softer than fresh or frozen veggies. There's also no need to really mush foods anymore. Some things still need to be cut into small pieces, and with other things (cooked broccoli stalks, pear slices, sandwiches, etc.), it makes more sense to give her pieces that she can hold in her hand and take bites off of. |
