What age did you stop feeding your child baby foods? and converted to all solids?

Question: What age did you stop feeding your child baby foods? and converted to all solids?

My daughter is 13 months old & eats from the table. I mush foods or cut meat and fruit into small peices, but just to make sure she is getting enough fruits & veggies I am still giving her some baby food. Is that ok?

At 13 months, she should be able to eat whatever you're eating. My younger two children actually ate very little baby foods, going right to table food. My youngest didn't have a single tooth at 12 months, but he was still eating everything we were eating (with the exception of some raw veggies like lettuce, carrots, and celery). There's nothing "wrong " with still serving some baby food, but there's no need for it, and it's better (and easier) for her to be eating whatever the rest of the family eats. There are so many fruits and veggies your daughter should be able to eat now... pear slices strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries cantaloupe and watermelon bananas kiwi apple slices -- You'll probably have to peel them, and these may still take a bit more practice if she's not used to them. canned fruit (in juice, not syrup) peas green beans diced, cooked carrots raw, peeled cucumber sweet potatoes cooked broccoli/ cauliflower cooked spinach You could offer other raw veggies like carrots, celery, lettuce, bell peppers, etc. and just see how she does. Canned veggies (the no salt added kind) are great, too, because they tend to be softer than fresh or frozen veggies. There's also no need to really mush foods anymore. Some things still need to be cut into small pieces, and with other things (cooked broccoli stalks, pear slices, sandwiches, etc.), it makes more sense to give her pieces that she can hold in her hand and take bites off of.

If you're giving your daughter table food, I don't see why you should keep giving her baby food to be honest. I've never bought my daughter baby food, I make it myself so she's been eating food from the table for a month now since she started eating homemade baby food at 6 months old. Continue giving your daughter baby food if you feel the need to be feeding her that for her health until the next time she sees a doctor. Ask the doctor, but I honestly don't believe you have to feed her baby food. You probably shouldn't be mushing the food that much neither because at a year old they should be able to eat toast. They have to get used to chunkier foods at this age to help strenghten the muscles of their esophagus.

If you're giving her table foods, why are you still giving her baby food? It's just junk, if i'm being honest. At 13 months she can have anything you're having. My daughter is almost 14 months and she has a varied diet of various table foods.
