Baby throwing up after eating small amounts of dairy in age appropriate baby food?

Question: Baby throwing up after eating small amounts of dairy in age appropriate baby food?

My daughter is 8 months old. The other day I gave her Earth's Best apple/ yogurt/ oatmeal that is for 6 months and up. I noticed she spit up few times after eating it, but didn't think much of it. Another time, she had vegetable stew, and would only eat half of the jar, which is very unusual, as she always devours her food. I checked the label, and it said it had cream in it. She spit up few times again. Also, the food was was 6 months and up. Now, I noticed that she spits up after eating Gerber's yogurt melts... They are all supposed to be easy to digest for babies under one year, so I'm growing a bit concern. I know, that she might just not be tolerating it well, but I'm worried, because I have severe lactose intolerance. I don't think it's genetic, so I don't really know what to think... Anyone had a baby react like this to those products? Are they allergic, or is it something they just grow out of? Thanks!

My doc told me that if my son was lactose intolerant he would have a problem with formula too, which he doesnt. but my lil man cant seem to cope with dairy either, its a milk protein intolerance and something that he should grow out of soon. he is now 10months, every week i give him something dairy to see how he copes. i would go and ask your doc and check if everything is ok xxx

Sounds like an intolerance. My baby broke out in hives with dairy. You may take her to the peds to see what they say. Most likey she'll out grow it. Just stay away from it until she's a little older and try again. If she does it again, she's probably allergic.

Try making your own food say the apple/ oatmeal. If she doesn't have a problem, then add a small amount of yogurt or creme. If she has a lactose intolerance problem, it will show up with the yogurt or creme. Most likely, it's a sensitivity to a protein and they usually grow out of it.

Babies are never truly lactose intolerant. If she WAS one of the very rare babies who are, she would be unable to tolerate either breatsmilk or normal formula, both of which contain plenty of lactose. If you are breastfeeding, it's entirely possible that she's allergic to cows milk, but that's an entirely different issue.

She me have an allergy to yogurt. My friend has 11 month old twin girls and she gave them the gerber yogurt juice the other day and it broke them out so she talked ot the doc and she said no more yogurt for now. I would stop giving her yogurt and bring it up with the doctor and see what he thinks about it.

My son had a slight Allergy to milk for awhile. We took out all milk/ diary fro his diet to see how he would react and he was fine. He has grown out of it now. Talk to your doctor about it and see what they also tell you.
