He can probably eat most things you eat by now, with the exception of a few of the allergy-prone foods (like peanut butter for example), that you might still want to wait on trying. Just hold off on adding extra salt or sugar to the food, and make sure to mash the food (if its mash-able like a potato or a banana) or cut the food into really small pieces, so he can chew it without any risk of choking. At that age, my little ones ate cooked chicken (cut very small), bananas, oatmeal, applesauce, oranges (cut up small), blueberries (cut up), grapes (cut up), sweet potatoes, carrots (cut up small), rice, cooked peas, potatoes, toast, cheese, yoghurt, whole milk, tofu, macaroni noodles, cheerios, cucumber (cut up small) and more ....Good luck!

You can feed your toddler nearly anything you eat, just watch the salt and sugar since adults eat more than a toddler should. Really though, just smush up a portion of whatever you're eating and let him try it. At nearly a year, he doesn't need baby food and it might even make him turn up his nose at foods that have more texture, not a good thing.

A 1 year old should be able to eat anything you eat at this point... just cut it into bitesized pieces and obviously don't give him junk food. But you can give him whatever you're having... chicken, rice, potatoes, vegetables.... he has teeth so he can chew everything up. You shouldn't be feeding him pureed baby foods at 1 year old.

My mom used feed my brother and myself nearly everything they ate. She would just put it through a meat grinder first. Today you can just buy a tiny food processor and use that. Make your own mashed banana and cereal food or make him a big meal of some mushed up stew meat and vegetables.

Use a good food processor, and you can put whatever you want in it and just grind it up. you can probably find some recipes online, and for on the go put them in the old baby food jars. or small Tupperware boxes.

I might be remembering incorrectly as my kids are 3 and 6 and the baby is 8 weeks but aren't 12 month old babies eating finger foods? Make him sandwiches and chop them into baby fist sizes, put cream cheese or marmite in them. Get some small pasta like macaroni and make a veggie sauce with onions, carrots, tomatoes and a little mince. Blend the sauce and chop the pasta, mix them and put a little cheese on it. You can make a batch and freeze it. Make some mashed potatoes and another veggie based sauce (any veggies you like) with chicken, blend it up and pour it on the mash. Give him some pieces of avacado, melon or mango to try. I would suggest buying a book of recipees, annabel karmel's is a good children's cookbook. I used to read the ingredients in the jars of food, buy them and make my own. I used a freezer lollypop maker to freeze portions so I wasn't endlessly cooking.

My daughter is 11 months old and has been eating table food for months. I don't add salk to my food and we rarely eat anything that isn't homemade. Today she has eaten all natural apple sauce + a mashed banana + fortified mixed grain cereal (the only "baby " food we buy) A mixture of leftovers: pot roast (beef + white potatoes), oven roasted sweet & purple potatoes and spinach cakes (fresh spinach + eggs + ricotta and parmesan cheese) fruit + Cheerios for a snack Dinner will be vegetarian lasagna
