Best baby food is what you make on your own without salt, sugar and organic. You can make your food and then take the babies out before you season foods. People are so lazy having to have everything in a jar or plastic cup. ... more landfil because of laziness. You can get an electric baby grinder processor and do it in two seconds with any foods, fruits , veggies.

I have parents tell me the ones they buy are the best all the time they'll say gerber is or earths best or beech nut or heb baby so far its a matter of opinion. Also when starting solids you need to be careful that you are not giving the food out of the jar and then storing it in the fridge afterwards babies have enzymes in their saliva that break down the food and if you give it to him later its already contaminated and could be causing the loose stools as well as his stomach may be adjusting to the new food you are giving him. I would suggest not using tap water either to mix the cereal if have been stop doing so. Maybe the mixed fruit is not a good idea for right now if he is having gas maybe just start with a plain fruit like just bananas or pear, or applesauce something like that until he gets use to it.

Http:/ / news.bbc.co.uk/ 2/ hi/ health/ 6762795.stm Solids best After six months, Mrs Rapley said babies were capable of taking food into their mouths and chewing it. Therefore, feeding them pureed food at this time could delay the development of chewing skills. Instead, she said, they should be given milk and solid pieces of food which they could chew. Mrs Rapley argued that babies fed pureed food had little control over how much food they ate, thus rendering them vulnerable to constipation, and running a risk that they would react by becoming fussy eaters later in life. She blamed the food industry for convincing parents that they should give children pureed food. She said: "Sound scientific research and government advice now agree that there is no longer any window of a baby's development in which they need something more than milk and less than solids. I used Nestle cereals (rice first, then oats), and mixed it with formula. I made all his foods homemade for a really long time - I only ever used bottled foods for travelling. And then I used Presidents Choice Organics brand from the Superstore in Canada. Mashed banana and applesauce are good choices, as are sweet potato, squash, carrots, etc. Just steam or boil the veggies, then mash/ puree and store in fridge or freeze in ice cube trays. Homemade food is a lot cheaper and healthier. And it only takes a few minutes a week - often you are cooking this stuff for yourself anyway, just throw it in the food processor and puree it for the baby. As your son's body gets used to solids, he will get more gassy. He will adjust - but in the meantime, hold off on the foods that are causing the problem. Introduce only one new food at a time every few days so you can see his reactions. Good luck!
