There's so many options out there, I just want to know which is the best one for about $40. Thanks!

I think baby food processors are a ripoff. Just as easy to use a normal one and use it past the time when you would make baby food. Many foods can just be mashed by hand too.

Any of them work just fine. The $13 normal adult blender at Walmart will make a smooth puree just fine. When blending very small amounts of food you don't need anything special. I'd try what you already have at home and see how it comes out.

"There is no need either that foods be pureed if the baby is six months of age or older. Simple mashing with a fork is all that is necessary at first. " kellymom.com/ newman/ 16starting_solid_foods.html "Solids best After six months, Mrs Rapley said babies were capable of taking food into their mouths and chewing it. Therefore, feeding them pureed food at this time could delay the development of chewing skills... She blamed the food industry for convincing parents that they should give children pureed food. She said: "Sound scientific research and government advice now agree that there is no longer any window of a baby's development in which they need something more than milk and less than solids. Just buy a regular food processor so you can use it for normal cooking also. We have a Cuisinart food processor that I used to puree food when they ate purees and now use it for my regular cooking -it was sooo worth every penny! We have this one but you can get a cheaper one: cuisinart.com/ products/ food_processors/ dfp-14bcn.html

I liked the Kidco "happy baby " manual food grinder. It's about $14. It only makes a small amount at a time, but that's all a baby needs at one meal. It's very easy to clean, doesn't need to be plugged in and you can take it with you to restaurants/ family dinners.
