Do you "REALLY " need a baby food processor to make good homemade baby food? Can't I use my blender, won't that work just as good?? Be honest.... and please leave links to great food processors you have used and would reccomend. thanks.

I used on of those hand-held immersion blenders at first, since the food had to be smooth and runny. Then as he got a little older and more teeth came in, I'd mash it up with a big potato masher. Also, I'd press things like corn and chick peas thru a metal sieve to remove skins. Another thing, it's great to cook in batches, and freeze in ice cube trays. We started with one cube per meal, then increased the amount as he started wanting to eat more solids. And he loved to end his meal with a cube of apple with cinnamon! I never used a baby food processor and the food came out just fine! Good for you for cooking for your baby! It's so healthy and good for him!

I used my magic bullet, and it worked well. I don't think you need a speical "baby food processor ", anything that purees will do.

Use your blender. It works fine. If you have the Thunderstick Blenderstick, that works even better (purees better than any other blenderstick and easier to clean up than a blender.

No lol.....blender or your regular counter top food processor works just as well. You SO don't need a good one. I would get the target.com/ KitchenAid-3-Cup-Chefs-Chopper-KFC3100PK/ dp/ B000IL9AHK/ sr= 1-1/ qid= 1205982606/ ref= sr_1_1/ 602-6148311-1262251?ie= UTF8 &index= target &rh= k%3Akitchen%20aid%20mini%20processor &page= 1 ....that one. Works great and is the perfect size for baby food! Not to mention it's going to last for FOREVER because it's Kitchen Aid.

I used my stick blender and it worked just fine and pureed very well when my son was at that stage. Mine is a kitchen aid professional model. it makes better sense because after baby outgrows the need for pureed food you still have the stick blender for other things instead of a potential gadget you may never use again. For bigger batches of things that I put up to freeze for use I used my regular food processor which is a Bosch. It's made in germany and better than any cuisinart or kitchen aid model IMHO, although kitchen aid makes a good one.

I was surprised to see another poster recommend cinnamon, as I had heard that babies shouldn't have spices until one year. I looked it up and found this page that I thought might be helpful for a first-time mother making her own baby food. wholesomebabyfood.com/ tipspices.htm I've heard good things about the site in general. Sorry I don't have advice on the blender - but your question has been answered pretty thoroughly already.

You do not really need a baby food processor. I use my hand blender for everything so I bought a really good one from Macys. macys.com/ catalog/ product/ index.ognc?ID= 201621 &PartnerID= FROOGLE &BannerID= PD677 I use it to make baby food, it only takes less than 5 seconds to puree something, and I use it to make smoothies for my picky toddler who refuses to eat! When my son does not want to eat (he likes to just drink everything) I use the smart stick to make him a fresh fruit smoothie and in 2 seconds I have a smoothie for him and can make him something that will fill him up and he loves to drink! The baby food comes out wonderful. But a regular hand blender form walmart will do the trick too!
