Well soft foods duh... mashed bananas, cream of wheat... stuff like that

Avocado is awesome, well cooked oatmeal (no sugar) mixed with breastmilk, soft cooked yams, steamed carrots mashed with a fork... I started mine on avocado.

Well you can choose between the traditional western culture of baby food, which is pureed, cooked veggies or you can choose baby led weaning which is centuries old. Either way it's your choice. Baby food: Start with something like sweet potatoes, applesauce etc. Begin with one feeding a day. A lot of people say to begin with veggies first because if you start with fruits they wont eat veggies but my 3 year old started with fruits and this morning she ate a can of peas for breakfast so I just dont see the logic here. Good home baby food starters that do not have to be cooked are banana and avacado, just mash with a little breastmilk, formula or juice and feed. Baby led weaning is where you recognise the fact that eating at such an early age is more for learning than nutrition and you allow your baby to feed themself. Works great especially if you have other children or want your child to be independent. The best way to start is with foods that are in decent chunks or slices and let them experiment. Personally I do a bit of both.

Well today I fed my 6 month old daughter mashed potato and beans. Other days she will have, mashed potato, carrots and chicken or spaghetti.. I sometimes mix a little cows milk in with her dinner to make it the right texture for her, my nurse said that was fine. You should find some good websites with recipes for your baby through google. x
