Question: Homemade baby food makers, what do you feed your 8 month old?

Moms who make your own food, what kind of foods are you feeding your 8 month old now? I use http:/ / www.wholesomebabyfood.com so I'm aware of what foods you CAN feed, I'm just wondering what you DO feed. We are both full time parents whose schedules are wacky at times, so our daughter does not always get solids each night. She has been introduced to bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, and carrots. She can't do finger foods to terrible well just yet, but she is doing great at chewing with all 6 of her teeth O_O

At 8 months my baby was doing finger foods almost exclusively. she ate pretty much anything we did (sans allergens & chocking hazards). she got 3 meals a day.

We did all self-feeding from the get-go, and at that age it was still a lot of steamed veg, a great deal of asparagus, also a lot of cold salad veg like cucumber and tomato, and toast and oatcakes and so on with hummus and tzatziki smeared on. There was some fumbling with a spoon with thick stuff like oatmeal and refried beans. May as well just give her what you're eating and let her shove it in -- really no point to 'baby food' or doing it for her, and much more fun for all concerned to just relax and share the meals rather than do, er, like the first answerer with a schedule and measured amounts.

By the time Charleigh was 8 months she had eaten almost everything so i had no worries about allergies (except egg and honey and nuts), so she would have cereal with apple puree for breakfast, mashed vegies for lunch yogurt for afternoon tea and usually either a puree of chicken/ beef and veg or soups such as minestrone, chicken and veg or pumpkin but one of her fav dinner meals was pumpkin, sweet potato, parsnip and potatoe chips/ fries.....i used to cut par boiled pieces of these vegies into thick fingers spray them with olive oil spray and over bake until they were golden she would eat a whole bowl full.......actually i think i might see if she still likes them :)
