This can be a tricky one!! everyone has lots of different opinions on when to move onto solids, but remember every child is different, and being a preemie he might just take things a bit slower. in my personal opinon, when children are hungry, they'll eat. try putting the food in front of them and allowing and allow them to do it themselves. no spoon, just their hands. at the same time. you sit with them, and eat your meal. this helps because they'll see you do it and know that when we sit down for food, we put it in their mouth. now the next bit is tough. if the don't eat their meal after 30 mins take it away. do this for every meal time. they'll learn that when food is given to them, thats their meal, and then you can get onto spoons. remember, its natural to want to eat food, but i'm sure to a 1 year old drinking formula is way easier and tastier than getting used to akward feeling and tasting food. just my personal opinion, but i hope this helps!! good luck!! |
