Need to make a baby food cake tonight for my son's first birthday - sugar free?

Question: Need to make a baby food cake tonight for my son's first birthday - sugar free?

Anyone have a good baby food cake recipe that doesn't call for sugar? plase help! Not true, I had some really good ones that called for apple sauce instead of sugar as a sweetner but I lost them and can't find them anywhere and I figured someone on here had one. Good try on the snarky remark though...

Cakes, by definition, are sweet. A cake recipe that doesn't contain sugar usually contains artificial sweetners, which are not recommended for infants. (A few recipes contain honey or molasses or the like ... but that's still sugar.) Does your baby have some unique health needs (i.e. diabetes) that make it necessary to avoid ALL sugar? This site contains some recipes that seem to meet your needs -- I can't speak for how any of them tastes. (And remember that sugar in applesauce or carrots is STILL sugar -- it's just fructose rather than sucrose -- your body metabolizes it the same way, and even a baby with diabetes would need to limit his intake.) EDIT: Sorry, got distracted and forgot the link! wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/ tipFirstBDay.htm EDIT#2: I'm not being snarky -- it's still sugar. And a little white or brown sugar is not unhealthy.

There is no such thing as sugar free cake. Try a banana bread instead.

Substitute splenda into your recipe
