6 month old baby first foods?
Hi everyone, my baby is 6 months old. I have already introduced cereals oatmeal, rice and barley. Now its on to the veg and fruits. I want to make all of the food myself but I'm a little confused. My doctor said today I can try different fruits and veg just to wait 3 4 days inbetween. Then I was told from another doctor to do all yellow veg, then green then fruit?? What gives? Could someone please help me?
Babies first food question?
My son is 5.5 months old and has just started eating fruit and veg. He started on rice cereal at 4 months on his pediatricians advise and at 5 months, started on purees. Problem is, the only thing he seems to like is sweet potato. I have tried carrot, pumpkin and mangos and he doesn't seem to like the taste of them. So, i mix them in with some cereal, about 1 2 and 1 2, and he will eat it. It must weaken the taste so its not so full on. So, is it ok to be mixing his fruit and veg with cereal? Or should I try to get him to eat them straight?
Feeding babies first foods?
I Live in the US. Is this wrong? When my son was small he didn't like the store bought baby foods so we chewed his food up for him. What else could we do? He was hungry, didn't like store bought baby food and was climbing all over us like an ape monkey when he saw us eating. I saw the Eskimos do this thats where I got the idea. He is 12 now. And of course eats on his own. But he hated baby food. Would not eat it. I know its primative and a lot of you will find it disgusting. But it worked. Just want to know your opinions and were we wrong to do it?
Advice on babies first foods?
My son started on rice cereal at 4 months and loves it. So, when he turned 5 months, we started him on some pureed veg. So far, the only thing he liked was sweet potato, which was the first thing we tried. He hated peas, ate carrot but didn't really like it the facial expressions said it all lol and i just tried avocado today, and that was also a no go. Next on the list is pumpkin, he should like that as its similar to sweet potato. But i would like to vary his veg, what else can i try? Should i try fruit or is that a bad idea considering he already is not liking veg? He likes prune juice, i mix that in with his cereal occasionally. Is this normal, for babies to be fussy with new foods? I don't want to just give him sweet potato everyday, but it seems that is all he likes so far. He even cried when it was finished lol. Do you find it funny that people assume cereal is every babies first food?
Why do most moms think that every baby starts with cereal as the first food? I have asked a couple questions recently about starting my son on food and I stated that I am practicing Baby Led Weaning which is giving the baby food that you eat instead of pureed foods but people still answer saying that babies first foods should be cereal and then jared food. Someone even went as far as telling me my baby NEEDS cereal. Why do people think this?Sara, I agree that most doctors tell parents this, maybe there is a conspiracy between the doctors and the baby food makers, lol. No seriously though, I don't know why doctors tell moms this. It is normally younger doctors who do this. Older doctors were around before baby cereal became popular and they usually suggest other things.BigDee, actually babies don't need teeth to eat soilds. Some babies don't get teeth until they are around 1 year old so would you wait until then to introduce solids to them? Babies can eat food with their gums just as good as with teeth.
Regarding babies first food!?
I know you are supposed to give them one type of food at a time for a week span to make sure there are no reactions or allergies to that specific food. My question though is do you have to feed them the rice cereal or can you just do the step one foods. We fed the cereal to my 5 month old for about a week but he hates it and I think he would like something with flavor. Can I skip the rice cereal??
What kind of veggies is best for babies first food?
I have a seventh month old baby boy who has just started eating solid food and he eats cereals and veggies now. He likes carrot and doesn't like squash and peas. I am feeding him veggies in puree form. What else could i feed him?
What are good Baby first foods?
I want my 8 month old to start eating table food. I'm a first time mom. What are good things start her up on. As far as finger foods, she has just had the Gerber puffs and little pieces of grapes without the skin .I know that fruits and veggies are good, but is it ok for me to give her meats or pasta? If so, do I have to cook them separately? because of the salt and seasonings?Please tell me what table foods your 8 month old is eating.
Babies first foods...?
My babies almost 5 months old. She's been getting baby rice for the past two weeks and i'm wondering if I should start introducing her to adult foods such as fruit veg? and if so are fruit and veg purees the only thing that should be given at this ? and do I continue with the baby rice as well?And baby is formula fed.My Doctor and Nurse have approved of her eating solids. I don't need people giving advice on what age she should eat at as I already know.
Baby first foods and baby second foods?
I am feeding my son gerber baby food. I was wondering how long you do first foods for. We have been through all of them and he has been eating them for almost a month now. Is it okay to start second foods once I finish off all the first foods I have left? How long to stay on second foods before moving on to thirds and so forth. Son is 4 months old and doctor gave okay to give him solids because he is large and developmentally advance for his age.
