What age can I start giving my baby finger foods?
My baby is seven months old and at the moment he mostly eats mashed up food. He will knaw on a teething rusk but when should I start giving him things like little fingers of sandwiches etc...

My 6 month old has been on pureed foods for about a month now. My mother in law said something about giving him cheerios and stuff..when can I do this? He's sitting up on his own, but he doesn't have teeth. I've heard that babies can mash stuff up pretty easily with their gums though.

My son is 6 1 2 months old, I think it is a texture thing, he loves oatmeal, hates all jarred baby food. I started mashing table foods and he will eat tiny bits of a few things but not much at all. I'm talkin like maybe 1 teaspoon. He is underweight and already doesn't drink enough formula, so doc says it's time to try something new. When is a good time to give him finger foods to get him to like eating more? Or make him thirsty for more formula? And what should I give him? How should it go? I don't know what is normal, like will he choke on it a little at first? Should he handle it ok? I need help
Is it safe to give my baby finger food?
My DD will be 7 months on Monday and her two front bottom teeth have broken through. She isn't keen on pureed foods, most times she doesn't open her mouth when feeding her with a spoon. Someone suggested to giver her finger food, I don't know whether this is safe at her age and considering she hasn't got many teeth yet? i was reading in what to expect the first year and it says at 7 months babys cant eat crackers. is this true? my baby has 2 teeth already and she is 6 months. Should i give her crackers at 7 months? It also says they may be able to eat crackers at 6 months or other foods. when did you give your baby crackers or other foods besides stage 1 or stage 2 foods? please i need some advise other than a book.she already sits by herself well also. and is already trying to pull up on things. does it go by age or what they can do? help me please first time mom. clueless

Nervous about giving 8 month old baby finger foods?
I am just scared he is going to choke, but I know that he needs to learn and he shows a lot of interest in our food. Right now he eats stage 2 jar food mostly, but if there is something soft on our plates like mashed potatoes or avacado, we give him that. I have given him the small banana puffs, he was eating those and one time he choked and gagged a little and I haven't given him one since because it really scared me I know that he needs to learn.Anyone else feel this way? Any suggestions?
Ideas for baby finger foods?
My 7 month old is extremely independent, and it's increasingly hard to get her to eat anything with a spoon she'd much rather feed herself. So far, I've given her whole wheat multigrain saltines, little pastas, kiwis, bananas, and little apple pieces. Does anyone have any ideas for things that would be easy for her to pick up herself and mash with her gums? I'm too tired to be creative Is it too early for scrambled eggs? What about sugar free Jello chunks? Sauteed bell pepper pieces? Peas?

My nearly 8 month old has somewhat mastered feeding herself pieces of bread. I want to give her something new in terms of finger food. What would you recommend as a next finger food? Her first teeth are not quite poking out yet so it needs to be something that can be gummed and soften quickly with her drool.
