I need advice about feeding baby cereal for the first time?
My daughter is almost 4 months and I think its time to start her on the rice cereal. I have no idea what I'm doing to be honest Can I get some advice? Like I would like to know1 How much should I make and how thin thick should I make it?2 How do I make sure she doesn t choke?3 She cant really sit in a high chair yet can she? What do u mothers do when they are that little? How do you actually position them when you feed them like that?THANKS Well she used to sleep through the night and now she is waking up at 5am every morning wanting a bottle. Thats why I think she needs something more solid before bed. Besides, Ive heard many ppl say 4 months is when they started. SO can ANYONE please give me some advice?
When can I start feeding my baby cereal?
My daughters 2 weeks old. I was told I could feed her just 1 ounce of rice b4 she goes to bed so she wont keep waking up to eat. When I feed her 3 ounces she is still hungry, so I burbs her and give her another ounces, so at 4 ounces she does good, then I get her to burb again, then 20 min later she is throwing all the formula up, and she has a hard time trying to throw it up and starts screaming. Scares me so bad. So that's why somone told me to give her 1 ounce of rice so she will be full and not want some much formula. is this okay b4 i try it?i didnt mean to word it like i wanted to her sleep at night, I know she's not going to do that. lol she's my second child, i know better. What I'm trying to say is, if i feed her 4 ounces 20 min later she is throwing up and everything, but if i just feed her 3 she is till hungry .. Thats what i'm trying to say. Sorry
How many times a day should i feed baby cereal to my 5 month old?
I just started feeding him baby cereal just once a day. He likes it, but I am not sure if I should " up his dosage" ? I will be starting him on baby jars next month.thanks so much for the webiste. i will most def check it out. cathrl69, my baby is getting baby cereal BECAUSE his doctor said I should start him on it and " up his dosage" in this case is a somewhat funny expression, he is not sick. in fact he is 5.5 months and bigger than most children his age...so yeah....i am fully aware of the deteriments of giving infants solids too soon....this is not the case.

At what age can I start giving my baby the single grain baby cereals?
My son is 4 months and doesnt get filled up for long anymore. He used to eat 5oz every 3 hours but now he wants it every 2 hours. I try making him a bigger bottle but he always stops at exactly 5oz. I was wondering if I should consider giving him some of the single grain baby cereal mixed with his formula at 1 or 2 feedings a day so he will stay fuller longer? anyone know the age I can start this or have any suggestions?
When I start feeding my baby cereal, do I need to reduce the amount of formula I give her?
She currently eats 7oz. of formula per feeding, and it doesn't seem to fill her up during the day. Is it okay to give her cereal twice a day? I can typically give her her last bottle around 9pm, and she's good until 6 30am, but during the day, it doesn't seem like she gets enough to eat.
Left over baby cereal with food?
If my baby doesn't eat all his cereal mixed with some baby food, can I put it in the frig. for later? I've heard left over cereal isn't the best thing but what if it's mixed with baby food from jars? Is it okay to feed him then?

What is the difference between baby food and baby cereal?
Not too long ago me and my bf had a big argument about feeding our son babyfood at 1 month old. I wanted to wait 6 months and he wanted to begin the night he came home from the hospital. He finally talked me down to 3 months. which in a way I regret but I started myself at 3 and already told him so now its too late to take back, right? I thought it would be a good idea to start out on cereal in the meantime even though my doctor said wait for cereal til 2 months I started cereal this early mainly so he would SHUT UP about the baby food and the baby STARVING and not getting full on formula. He thinks after the baby has ate and still sucks his finger that he is still hungry. He has gave him 10 oz. of formula b c of this " action" in a 20 min. period and we watched at he threw up so obviously that wasn't the que but I have read before that babies will do that when they are hungry So now Im putting cereal thinly in 4 bottles a day to get him ready for month 3 and now my bf is like, " We ought to go ahead and give him babyfood b c you already have him on cereal." then he follows it with my question Im asking today and I don't know exactly what to say. Im sure theres a good reason to start cereal before food, could someone tell me why.
My daughers doctor said it is fine to start on baby cereal and...?
so this morning i tried it didnt work out she was tired and fussy and jst wanted to suck on her bottle. so i jst said ill try tomorrow when she is well rested. and she only really had a few bites washed down with her milk most of it or almost all of it was thrown out. she is 4 months and is eating 8oz every so often its been so different lately because of teething really bad so sometimes she doesnt even feel like eating or she'll only eat a little bit and sometimes she wants it all. the usual would be every 3 1 2 to 4hours apart. im thinking maybe she isnt ready yet. but today she was soooo fussy like i know she has been fussy lately because of teething but i always calm her down no matter how long it takes. today was so hard tho all the way from 5pm to about 8 15pm i was trying everything. i didnt think of giving her a bottle til the last minute because she had ate 10oz at around 4 30 or 5pm, so i ended up giving her one at 8pm and she ate some and fell right asleep. im wondering tho if it was really hunger or if the cereal messed with her tummy, could this be possible? maybe her tummy isnt ready to handle cereal what do you think? even with so little amount do you think it can make her tummy in pain all day??yes i do use baby orajel. just today was like an extremely fussy day for her to the point where i was trying to stay so calm but got so frustrated and started to break down and feel like a bad mom for not being able to calm her down. but its just times that mommies go thru i guess, thats why i was wondering if the cereal couldve triggered her tummy plus her teething and plus it was super hot out today. the cereal was something more than our usual day of teething and being hot so thats just why i asked opinions if thats what couldve made her feel even worse than she already was
Is it okay to let a 3 & 1/2 month old baby taste foods or eat baby cereal?
Is it okay to let a 3 & 1 2 month old baby taste things, like maybe pureed bananas or anything healthy like that sort of thing? ...and also is it okay to give your baby cereal? I'm just curious about it, I haven't let my daughter taste anything yet. If it's not, when exactly are they allowed to taste foods?
