Question: Is rice suitable for newborn babies?

No! Newborn babies need to have ONLY breastmilk, or formula if you cannot breastfeed. NO OTHER FOODS or drinks, at all!

No its not. You don't want to even try giving a baby rice until they can start holding things on their own and sitting up on their own

NO, babies till at least 6 months(but preferably till they show signs of being ready for food*and even then rice cereal isn't really good for them*) should have breastmilk,donor breastmilk,or formula(if you can't breastfeed or find a donor). Food till one is just for fun

No, newborns should only be given breast milk, formula those sort of things. No solid foods yet. No rice, it can kill them.

Sujata, you have asked three questions surrounding foods that are unsuitable for newborn physiological and developmental needs. If you are struggling with breastfeeding, please get help immediately or post a question about that. If you need to formula feed then do so, especially if the baby you're asking about is under a year old. But everyone here is right - no rice cereal for babies under the age of six months - even when a pediatrician says it's okay at 4 mos and up. Current evidence shows otherwise - some docs are old-fashioned. Good luck and please get the help you need IN PERSON via a licensed professional.
