Pediatricians refusing to test babies for strep?! ?
I have a friend who just had a baby in Nov, and another that has a 3 y o. Both of them had a similar experience with different pediatricians. The newborn has strep throat, but the pediatrician refused a strep test for a week until the mother begged They said " we don't do those in the first year" . And ofcourse, the baby DID have strep. My friend with the 3 y o, her baby was 10 mos and had strep throat, but the pediatrician refused to test for almost 2 weeks She finally went to another doctor and the baby tested positive for strep... The baby finally got treatment, along with the whole family, for strep throat. I'm due 3 16 and I want to know if this is something I should address with the pediatrician I'm about to choose. I would be one angry mama if a doc refuses to simply test for something babies " don't usually" have. Has this happened and how did you address it?
How old does baby hamsters have to be before they can be taken away from their mother?
So hamster had babies about a week ago.. I have no idea how old they should be before i can take them away from their mother? Anybody know? Also when would it be alright for them to be held and the cage to be cleaned? Thanks for your help It is very appriciated
